Art Installs at an outdoor-themed restaurant: Trailyard in Valpo

Trailyard Art:

This was my latest largest collect of art installed at one single location. A total of 10 unique pieces scaling from life sized metal sculpture hanging from the ceiling to a large 8ft rotating mixed media piece. Trailyard is an outdoor-inspired restaurant, cafe, and bike shop located in Valparaiso Indiana. It is nestled next to Creekside Trails (a well known mountain bike trail in the area) spanning 12 miles of trails scaling from beginner to expert level.

"Dusk to Dawn"

This mixed media piece is handmade from start to finish.
The rotating panel is constructed of a birch wood frame, acrylic painted surface, resin finish, and painted/cut accent moon & birds. The face layer is made up of various live-edge woods with cut recycled steel accent pieces. “ I wanted to stretch the imagination using a wide range of my artistic skills [ from fabrication, painting, woodworking, sculpture, and engineering] wrapped up in one piece. It was one of my biggest and most complex pieces I have produced to date. Hope you enjoy it!”

"Rose"

“Rose” is a tribute to a Sandhill Crane that had been present often during the building process of Trailyard. The life-sized sculpture is made up of many pieces of recycled metals and showcases how majestic they are flying high among us in this world.

"Capturing the essence of the outdoors using a balance of paints/resin/texture and natural elements (bark, grasses, quartz, moss, sand, and stones). These pieces represent the earth around us and show how we can admire it’s beauty.”

"The Flock"

A cohesive group of contemporary styled birds constructed of various hardwoods leaving some pieces rough live-edged for character. Birds mounted from a fabricated painted steel sculpture.
